Lan Su Chinese Garden Part 2: Through the Window

Did I mention that the Chinese Garden only takes up about one city block? But in that one block there is so much detail it’s overwhelming. Today I want to look at the windows; I only captured a few of the varieties.

Above,  you can see a window frame carved from wood, which in turn frames another “window” that is actually an opening in a concrete wall.

Beautiful frames around beautiful views, everywhere you look.

I love how, in the image above, you can see the contrast between the curves of the buildings in the garden and the hard lines of the big buildings of downtown. My photography prof in college called this “incongruous juxtaposition”. I call it awesome. (He probably would too, actually, though I don’t know what he would think of all my snapshots taken with my iPhone.)
